The problem

Good content isn't enough.

Most professional services brands post content that looks great and says almost nothing. Not because they don't have expertise but because they're talking to everyone and landing with no one.

The fix isn't better production. It's better positioning. And positioning comes down to three things: your hook, your content, and your CTA. Get those right, and your reels stop being content and start being conversations.

The framework

Three parts.

Every piece of content you make should be able to answer these three questions before you hit record.

01 —
The Hook

Your hook is the only thing standing between your content and the scroll. It has one job: stop the right person and make them feel like this was made for them. A good hook names a specific person in a specific situation not a category.

Ask yourself before filming
  • Who specifically is this for? (job title, life stage, problem they're sitting with right now)
  • What are they feeling that they haven't been able to articulate yet?
  • Does my hook name them or just their industry?
02 —
The Content

This is where you deliver on the promise of the hook. Not everything you know, just the one insight that moves the person from "that's interesting" to "I need this person." Teach through specificity, not volume. One concrete idea lands harder than five abstract ones.

Ask yourself before filming
  • What is the one thing I want them to walk away believing?
  • Am I teaching a concept or naming their experience? (Name the experience.)
  • Would my ideal client feel more understood after watching this, or just more informed?
03 —
The CTA

Your CTA should be as specific as your hook. A vague CTA ("follow for more tips") wastes the trust you just built. A specific CTA gives the warm viewer an obvious, low-friction next step that feels like a natural continuation, not a sales pitch.

Ask yourself before filming
  • What do I want the right person to do next?
  • Is this CTA easy enough that someone watching on a lunch break would do it?
  • Does it match the energy of the content — or does it feel like a gear change?

See it in action.

Here's what the framework looks like applied to a real Reel — before and after positioning.

Generic version
"Here are 3 things to look for when choosing a professional services provider."
Hook Speaks to no one in particular. Anyone could say this. Anyone could scroll past it.
Content Generic tips that apply to every industry and therefore feel personal to none of them.
CTA "Follow us for more." Low stakes for the creator. Even lower interest from the viewer.
Why it doesn't convert

There's no specific person being addressed, no felt problem being named, and no reason for the right client to think "this is for me." It gets watched. It doesn't get acted on.

Positioned version
"If you've been putting off getting professional advice because you don't know if the timing is right, this is what I'd tell you."
Hook Names a specific emotional state (procrastination + uncertainty) that the ideal client is sitting with right now. They feel identified before the content even starts.
Content One clear, honest answer to a question the viewer actually has — delivered with authority, not a list of features.
CTA "If that resonates, send me a DM with the word TIMING and I'll send you the one question that helps most people get clarity." Specific, low-friction, earns the next step.
Why it converts

The right person watches this and thinks: "They're talking about me." That's not luck. That's positioning. The content hasn't changed — the specificity has.
